Century Park in Shanghai is located at the east end of Century Boulevard. Century Park is currently the largest ecological park in Shanghai. The park covers a total area of approximately 140.3 hectares and was designed by the British-based LUC.
The park is a modern Chinese garden that embodies the integration of East and West cultures and of man and nature. It mainly consists of large lawns, forests and lakes. There are a number of beautiful scenic areas in Century Park, such as Central Lake Island, Huiwu Square, Rural Garden, International Garden and Thin Forest Lawn. Bird Protection, scientific advances, scientific experiments and children amusement facilities are available at the park.
The park includes a concert stage, and visitors can hire tandem bicycles or cycling-cars for convenient travel. The park's landscape combines British, Japanese and Chinese gardening styles. Well-known places in Century Park include Lucky Pond, Bird Island and the lotus pond.
