Renovation of a jogging path surrounding the Century Park in Shanghai's Lujiazui area is nearing completion, the Pudong Times reported on May 18.

Currently, residents are allowed to walk or do exercises on the path. Pudong Development Group said that they will finish the project as soon as possible to satisfy local residents' needs for leisure and exercise.

Century Park is Shanghai's largest eco-park and one of the most popular areas for outdoor exercise in the city.

The jogging path was built three years ago and has proved popular with locals.

The current work seeks to improve the path by adding a lane, making three bridges runner-friendly, and generally improving its surrounding greenery.

Additionally, some service facilities such as lighting and camera monitoring systems will be installed to make running along the path a safer and more enjoyable experience.
